What to expect
A chiropractor’s first concern is to find out what is wrong. Further investigations where indicated will be referred to the patient’s GP.
Initial assessment includes medical history, lifestyle and personal goals. If, at any point, your chiropractor discovers or suspects a condition that requires medical intervention, they will refer you to your G.P. for further tests.
Normally the first visit takes about one hour. During this time the chiropractor will take a full case history, ask your permission to examine you (this will include neurological and orthopaedic tests where appropriate) and agree an appropriate treatment plan.
